HID Installation
I was wondering if anyone here installed HID's on their Yaris'. I'm going to be getting HID's soon and I don't want to go in guns-a-blazing and taking bolts off without really knowing where to mount the ballast. Pretty much, i'd rather not take the front bumper off if I don't have to. Though, by the looks of it that'll be unrealistic.

No need to remove the bumper or headlight housings... unless of course, you are doing an Eagleye High/Low kit, as the bulb base is a bit longer then the standard low beam only kit.. hence the reason poping the headlight housings will make the install a bit easier.
Good luck. |

HID on Yaris
Hi, for those who installed HID kit on their yaris, how's the beam pattern? I understand projector will produce wider and uniformed light spread. Does the kit give out hot spots on the ground? Also, how far is the light, shorter or same as OEM halogen light? Thanks

Search under my user name, I have posted many many shots of my HIDs... I would re-post, but on a different computer right now.

I don't know how people fit their hands behind the headlights - must have little girly-man hands.
It takes about 2 minutes to remove the 7 clips holding the top of the bumper - I use the smallest regular bit screwdriver in my kit - just push down the center then pull the whole clip out. No need to take the bolts in the bottom out. Maybe another three minutes to remove the six bolts holding the headlight housing in and you've got a lot more room to work. |
