The new Toyota Avensis 1.8 from my father-in-law
Hi there!
I want to show you the new car of my father-in-law. It's the new Toyota Avensis with the 1.8 147 hp petrol engine. It has a 6 speed gearbox and the mileage is 36 mpg (combined city/highway). And because it's a Yaris forum my diesel Yaris is in behind: The car is really well built with high quality materials. It's similar to Lexus. The navigation system is not top of the line off course but 750 euro it's relatively cheap: My boyfriend is driving at the highway: The car is driving really smooth and is really silent at high speeds like 100 mph it's like going 50 mph. In june this year we're going to central Italy towing a caravan. I can't wait to that |

The shape will take some getting used to, but is seems like a solid car. Haven't seen any on the roads around here yet, although it's in showrooms.

Although the former Avensis reached a pretty common mileage according to the manual. |

The mileage now already is 30 MPG, not bad for a 147 hp petrol car.
I have to say that my father in law already reached high speeds so it isn't very accurate. |

Toyota makes quite a few nicer cars outside the US market. This, the Mark X, Toyota Crown Athlete, etc.

Who said Yaris was slow?
|
Hmmmmm....
The red line on that car is @ 7,500 rpm. Interesting. The Yaris TS and the Scion xD with the previous version of that engine have a 6,400 rpm line. I tought the only difference between the 2ZR-FE and the 2ZR-FAE was the addition of the Valvematic system (Lift). Wouldn't take more than a valve lift to allow the car to rev higher? Would be interesting to see the detailed specs of that engine... Kind of makes me want to look for a Rev Limiter defender device... |
