Hey IsLNdbOi, after you receive the ebay item, can you post on here how easy or hard it was to install the new one?

And isn't it strange that they have the instructions on how to extend it in the manual even though it isn't equipped with the feature. I'm still going to contact yaris for an explanation.

They are fairly easy to swap. If you look at the picture below, you'll see the spring clips that hold them up. You pivot them 90 degrees and then jiggle and pull.

I just picked up a perfect set of visors with the extenders today. I was grabbing some connectors from a local junk yard and figured someone could use them.

$45 shipped

Will do. This one had already been pretty stripped, but I asked the yard to give me a call anytime they get one in.

I sat in a new 5dr at the dealership the other day and was surprised to see the extenders missing too. If it's any comfort the new Prius doesn't have em either.

I don't believe my '08 sedan has visor extenders. I'm not really sure. I guess I've never needed them.

I have them. Wow. I feel special now. ('07 manual)
Now why would they do away with that feature? It's actually pretty nifty.

I'm thinking cost savings. The 09+ ones are rotomolded plastic, rather than the cushioned vinyl.

This was one of the first things I noticed on the '09-no visor extender. This was a huge selling point to me on my '08 and use it all the time. I hate how so many manufactures only do this on there super expensive cars. My only though on why this feature was deleted is side-curtain airbags are now standard as of '09 and it may effect their operation or worse yet put the extension into persons head if something happened and the extender was out. My car does not have the side curtains, but that was my only thought on this great feature-funny it's still in the owners manuel.

UTVitz, I think you may have hit the nail on the head...the side curtain airbags were probably the reason they were removed. Something the 09 owners should consider before retrofitting visors from previous years into their cars...

Got mine from eBay today. Not happy with them. The seller said they were in good condition, but these have plastic "stress marks" (like when you bend a piece of plastic and it turns white) around the edges of the openings for the extensions. One of the extensions is loose and slides in and out almost freely. There are also scratches on the oval parts that pop into the roof.

What should I do?

Anyone have a step-by-step of how to remove the stock sun-visors? I tried taking mine out, but was afraid I was gonna break something.

1. Swing the visor out about 45 degrees.
2. Gently pry off the mounting cover
3. Rock the visor up and down while pulling on the mount

It takes a bit of elbow grease to pop the clips, but that's how the service manual says to remove them.
