Well I ordered a couple of packages of autometer blue bulb condoms from a supplier down the highway from me. I hope they ship them to me in time for the weekend. I'll post as to whether or not they fit. I plan on doing the turn signal and high beam indicators as well.

I think that will work out well for you.
I took the cover off the top one before I put it back in. Forgive the handheld night photo, but you get the idea.

What about replacing the bulbs with a white LED and a 1k resistor?
That ought to the trick, albeit a lil bit of soldering... I'm actually thingking of doing some interior lighting with a couple of bright Blue leds in series per side...

as I havent been able to take apart the Piece yet, Im not sure you could pop a LED into the Hole meant for the Bulb, or if there is a area you can use to get power off.

It'll probably be a better idea to change out the Condoms, or if we can find a Bulb number/type, the Bulb itself. Its much less pernament, and you stand less of a change of screwing up.

^^

This is a Good Read, and were all learning how to make that Ugly-as-sin Green go away!

I've got a few blue LEDs I plan to tap into the dash lighting circuit with so they'll dim with those lights. I'm not sure exactly where I'm going to put them yet. But as far as the control knob bulbs, I don't really think LEDs are an option.

Its funny cuz i chatted to some mates about changing the colour of the central things. I thaught it was impossible to change to center colour. Now i found this thread and safely to say i might change mine to blue since my head unit light is blue.

P.S that green looks SWEET. Better than stocked.

Or lets be gay and make it rainbow? ha....

Green is the stock color here.

I'll take a few photos to show how it's done.

It's so easy I actually put the clear bulb back in while driving home in traffic.

My guess is that these are a type of instrumentation bulb called "Neo-Wedge" they're similar to those twist type #74 bulb housings but have a different fitment.

why not just get a "butt connector" (i think thats what their called) and just reconnect them? be much cheaper then buying a new part..
