Paid off the Yaris :D - Toyota Yaris Forums

Paid her off today. Got her brand new in December 07 with $0 for
$260 a month on a 5 1/2 loan. So I figured I pay it off a year and half
early to save myself some interest rate costs, not to mention it's nice to
know it's technically mine now and not the banks.

What should I do to the car next? I have Teins, Tokicos and a UR 23 sway.
I was thinking a nice set of rims like some Heliums or Feathers in a 16" size.
Any other suggestions guys/gals?

I don't want to go all out like s/c or anything because while I do intend to keep the car until the wheels fall off, I can't say for sure that I wouldn't get rid of it or trade it in if the deal was sweet enough.

Those Suzuki Sx4 awd look mighty tasty and can be had for about $16.5 out the door nicely loaded. Ideally though I'd like to keep the Yaris for a great gas miser DD and pick up a turbo rx7 to accompany it.

Thanks guys, I'll definitely read through the best/worst thread. I am a bit limited on what I'd like to do as far as mods because like I said, not sure how long I'll keep the car although I intend to keep it for a long time. And on top of that, it's an autotragic transmission :(

I would have gave it a short shifter and some other things if I could. I guess so far my only plans possibly are rims to set the car off.

Short shifter kit (engine bay piece), A/C low pressure return line mod, stainless steel brake lines, Clazzio leather seats.

picking up the sway bar would be a great idea even if you were thinking of selling it. IMHO if you had the car for only a month with the sway bar it is worth it.

I would have had mine paid off too if I hadn't refi'ed the car. If all goes well I will be paid off by the end of next year at most.

2 more and mine is mine. Current project keeps me from getting the XD mirrors painted and mounted. Congrats on the payoff.

Well looking today at the loan maturity date, it says it matures on June of 2013...so I essentially paid it off 2 years ahead of time lol. Had no idea I paid that much in advance.

I guess buyers luck just kicked in because the day I paid it off, it started developing a leak from the transmission bolt/pan area lol. Took it to get fixed yesterday at the dealership and they fixed it for free. Only problem is though is that when I left for work this morning, the leak was worse than before I took it in! Had to park it today and put a pan underneath to catch the drips so I don't bleed out before getting it to the dealer again in the morning.

Everyones suggestions for mods is really great, thanks for all of them so far!

I still have a baseball bat lodged in an unpleasant place by my bank for my auto loan. Lesson learned. You got an amazing loan on your car. Congrats on the pay off!! I have at least another year on my 2007 LB if I widdle away at it aggressively.

2 of 3 of my Yari are paid in full . 1 of my Yari has a higher blue book value than what I paid for it

That particular Yaris (2009 Blue ) also has a lifetime warranty on the engine .

Like I stated in 2007 , the Yaris is the best car in the US market . Especially when you consider price and reliability .

i'm in the same boat as you guys :)

I bought my wife's 09 Yaris little over a year ago (May 2010) and I just wrote a check for $8321.32 and paid it off (been saving money and throwing everything but the kitchen sink into a savings account to pay it off).

Looking at the loan payoff calculator I saved 2100.00 in interest :)

Feels good to have a new car with 24K miles (7 yr and 100K warranty still) that will last for some time.

Now to just throw more $$$ at my 08 and get it paid off.
