Since they'll fit on a normal Yaris, I might have to give them a try on my road worthy Yaris when we get a decent snow.

They are mode of a super soft and sticky compound. I have a feeling that they'll be very good on ice. The swampfox tires that I was originally trying to use are very similar and they were excellent on ice last year (with my tractor that is).

Speaking of deflating - They are rated to be run at 12psi (with a max of 36psi). I have them at 20 now, because they really squish at 12.

Are the tires DOT approved? I feel like they'd wear down really fast, given that they have a lot more weight on them than they usually would, and being used on pavement. That would be really sweet to roll on though.

They are labeled as NHS (which means non-highway service). I think the manufacturer rates them at 50 MPH max. They definitely wouldn't be something you'd want to use as daily run tires, but they might be a blast to throw on to cruise the empty streets after a good storm.

I'd throw them on there just like that, rubbing on the bumpers? i don't need no stinkin' bumpers how much was each tire?

$107 each with free shipping (motoxmall.com).

If I could have squeezed 12" rims on, then I could have gotten tires for about $60 each. 15" rims are not very common an ATV's at this point, so there's a premium for the couple of tires made in that size. I looked into truck tires, but couldn't find anything aggressive that would even come close to fitting.

LOL. Now that the suspension, axle, and brake fixes are done, I just need to figure out my material list for the roll cage and plow frame. I've had a couple of house projects that I've been working on the past couple weekends, so my Crashy time has been limited. This weekend I'll wrap up the last of my drywall work and hopefully next weekend I'll be welding. Crashy work is definitely way more fun than hanging and taping drywall.

Stay tuned...

Performing surgery blindfolded with shaking hands on your own hemorrhoids is more fun than hanging and taping drywall!

CTScott,

I hope you realize that when Crashy's rebirth is complete, you'll have to go on a world tour to showcase your talents and Crashy's new style.
