somthing vibrating/rattling in the engine compartment

have any of you guys heard or felt like there's something
vibrating/rattling in the engine compartment, somewhere in front
of the steering wheel (left-hand drive), when the engine is idling
or when it's in drive or reverse and you're stepping on the brakes?

yesterday, i found out that it's the air filter box vibrating. there
must be something loose with the mounting or something because
when i press or put pressure on the box the vibrating stops.

haven't worked on it yet, though. maybe, this weekend.

I get annoying vibrating and popping noises from the dash and rear view mirror.... I cant do anything about the noises.... I just try to ignore them.

Is your Yaris an automatic? Is the rattle worst when in reverse but not moving? If so it is the shifter cable rattling against a wire bracket meant to hold the cable away from the exhaust. I believe there is a TSB out for the fix which consists of a ziptie securing the cable to the bracket...

Hello, PetersRedYaris

Yes, mine's an automatic. I'll go check on the shifter cable after
I finish with the airbox matter.

It's fun working the bugs out of the Yaris, Vios in the Philippines.
It makes you love the car more.

Thanks.
