OBD-II ware for the 12 Yarris
Hey,
What's the best OBD-II software that I can get if I want to do live readouts of my car? I was looking at ScanXL, but I'm not sure if there's better. |

If you have an android phone, you can get a program called "Torque" and combine it with a cheap bluetooth OBDII reader off e-bay.

I'm thinking a premium bluetooth OBDII reader (such as the OBDLink MX) might provide much better results.
Anyone have some experience with such a unit?

I just use a cheapo ebay one, cost me about 10 bucks i think. Works well. I use Torque on my Nexus7 installed in place of a radio.

^ Display functions like intake temp, rpm, water temp, etc. -- functions that are present and readable from the OBDII connector.
Using an OBDII reader + your phone + an app can be a cheap alternative to something like a ScanGauge. Although, with tk-421's hardware suggestion ($149.95), the Scangauge is comparable in price and a feature-rich, dedicated component.
