As for my situation, still have to take the moron to small claims for the bike. My insurance is covering my car and all my aftermarket parts fortunately. I'll be rollin in a brand new 2010 Black 3dr in a week! : ) And I'll be able to buy all my mods right away! Things are looking up...
Nice!! I'm sorry about your bike though :( At least it will be an easy win, I'm sure. That's awesome that they aren't giving you any hassle about the after market stuff, I've heard some horror stories about that. Make sure to post pics!!

Don't get me wrong, I'm all in favor of both govt car insurance and medical - they limit the scope of personal financial disasters.

Sorry about your car - I hope it all works out in the long run.
I love the fact that our government is socialist in that regard. The problem is that these socialist policies are being run by capitalist minded people.. which is why our tax dollars are always so inefficiently spent. But at least we all have insurance eh? Thank goodness peopel who get into more accidents get charged more. BUT unfortunately they can probably afford the price hike knowing the demographic..

Stereotypes are stupid. .02

Political correctness is a PITA when overused, I'll give you that. But on a public forum like this one, you gotta be a little more careful. Just because you and a couple of your online buddies think something is funny, doesn't mean everybody does, in other words, crossing certain lines (gay jokes come to mind) can makes us look like jerks to the whole world out there, so everybody keep that in mind please

It's the same thing here, too (US). If you get in an accident, even if it wasn't your fault, your insurance goes up.

Your insurance also goes up or down, depending on your zip code. You can always try to argue that you're the same driver whether you live in this area or that area, the insurance doesn't see it that way, so for instance, in San Francisco, insurance is more expensive than 50 miles away from the city.

It's not so much a matter of how you drive, but the number of other people on the road around you. If you live in a rural area, your rates are lower because there's less traffic, ergo, less likelihood of an accident. The converse is also true, the more traffic there is, the more likely an accident will occur, therefore your rates are higher.

Just like if you drive a higher number of miles per year, your rates are higher because you're on the road around traffic more.

While a lot of accidents involve only 1 car (like hitting a tree or rolling in a ditch), they are more likely to involve 2 or more cars (rear-ending, t-boning, etc.).
