Question Cannucks-Anyone sourced aftermarket brake pads?

Mine are just about finished. OEMs are giving me about 85,000 kms so I'm not necessarily shying away from Toyota replacements, but am wondering if anyone has sourced out alternatives.

Toyota run approx $66/pr., and special order Raybestos from CTC cost the same. Mail-order from US is prohibitive due to exchange, shipping, etc.

Anyone got info?

Edit: Feb 27/09 - found these

Raybestos is probably the only thing you can find.

I know these also include the rotors, but I purchased these and they work great. Was cheaper than buying OEM.

Try Garm , i know hes in the US but if you want quality , sometimes you
have too pay for it . + his shipping rates are real good.

Dunno years ago ive had bad experience with ebay performance rotors and pads. The rotors got completely chewed up in few thousand miles and the brakes squeeling like something fierce every time i came to a stop light. I would dissasemble everything put antisqueek on the outside of the pads and lube everything and the squeel would stop for a week but come back. After that i just threw it all in the garbage and got some premium pads and rotors from my local parts house and had it done with

How's that search going Wee? In another year I'll be in your same position. Mines 11 months old now and about to turn over 30,000 kl.

IMO unless you're tracking your car (road racing, not autocross or drag lmfao) you won't beat toyota pads. they'll out last most aftermarket pads, and are very very high quality.

i know they're in the US but:

unbeatable price for OE pads

I have just found this. Only saves about $17 over dealer parts counter.

Is the $17 saving before shipping?
Either way, I'd likely go OEM for that little difference. At least you know what you're getting at the stealership.

$17.00 is savings with $9.95 shipping costs factored in. Free shipping kicks in with these guys on a minimum $75.00 order.

I'll probably do dealer parts myself. 10 minute drive to Milton Toyota and they're in my hands.

I'd stick to O.E. pads.

Are there any ceramic pads for the Yaris available?

I don't know the composition of OE pads, but the Raybestos ordered through CTC are ceramic.

I use Stillen pads for the Yaris. I can't remember the model, but they're take a bit to warm up. Once warmed up, they work pretty good.
teamed them up with Stillen cross drilled rotors and goodridge SS lines and good hi temp brake fluid.
