tweeters in door

I've been running polk components in the back of my 08 HB. I finally got the other pair for the front. I've seen people mount the tweeters at the top of the door. After trying different places, they did sound good there. Pulling wire through the boot in the door was a pain until I greased up the wire puller.

After mounting the mids, which actually cleared the window with fatmat behind the speaker bracket, and mounting the crossovers behind the glovebox,

I drilled the holes for the tweeters

The panel under it looked like this when I started

and this when I got done modifying it

I mounted the brackets for the tweeters

and put everything back together

They do sound good here, and they're protected a little from the rain if the window is down. Next step will be to deaden the doors when I can get more mat and then a custom box in the back. Right now I'm running two 12" sony's that are about 6 years old. Sorry for the crappy photos. I had to use my phone.

It's not when you open your window that you have to worry, it's when you open your door. If you get heavy rainfall, they will probably see damage. With they amount of rain I see in out here in Thailand, that area gets SOAKED, just from briefly opening the door. I have no idea about Ohio though. . .

Both jobs look fantastic.

Wow. Good job hijacking the thread with your beautiful work.

Now, can you make those door pods for other LB owners?

I do want to get two subs mounted in the back like that. I might be able to do that. My box I have now takes up the whole hatch area.
