MI Armrest - New Screw?
I am waiting on UPS to bring my new MI armrest, and was just checking on the MI forum and found that someone mentioned that they had to buy a new longer screw to hold the thing in the car better. Is that true?
Oh wait, here comes UPS!

yeah, some people do and some don't so it's hard to say beforehand. I believe it's an M10 bolt, which can be found at Home Depot / Lowe's etc. IF you need it.

Oh yeah, you need a longer one. The one that comes out of the console is teeny compared to the hole it must fill...depth-wise. I had something lying around the house that worked fine.
The picture is of the original one that came out and had to be replaced.

Got mine last week and had the same issue. Went out to the bolt bin and it was a cinch!

can you guys say exactly what bolt you used? length?
That would help others, and maybe I can get some to ship with the consoles.

^ I don't know exactly. Besides, mine was a self-tapping screw, so... There was another post where the guy put the size he got from Lowe's that worked.
Here is the information he put in the post (I printed it): M6-1.00 x 30 Hex Cap Screw - Hillman Part # 880657. Yeah, I could see about a 3/4 inch gap after setting the armrest in place, and knew it was gonna take something longer. Hope this helps.
