wheel weight
Would anyone happen to know how much a Konig Lightning 16x7 wheel weighs? I like the look of the black ones, but can not find any weight specs. I realize the weight of the tire/wheel package makes a big differance in performance. Thanks for your help.

18.24 pounds according to these guys. Heavy suckers. Far heavier than Feathers.

wheels
Thanks for the info. I actually own them now I have the black ones on a blue 3 dr. I love the way they look, but I switched off to the stock steelies for winter the other day, and the car feels like it has better performance with the stock set up. I think I will be selling them and the s-drives. I will try and go with a light weight 15" set up.

Steelies come in a roughly 1 pound per inch. In my case, I drop from 16.2 pound alloys in the summer to 14 pound steelies in the winter. That weight reduction, combined with going from 195/50/16s to 175/65/14s can really be felt as a noticeable improvement in spunk. Can't handle worth shit, but quicker pick-up can really be felt.

I think my car handles better with my 185/60 14 winters than my 205/40 16 summers. slightly less grip, but way better road feel.
But then again, I play around with different rear springs a lot. I've got stock rear and eibach fronts right now, with TRD rear shocks and Koni yellows in front with 7w oil. |

well, my summers are rpf1's @ 9.7lbs/wheel for 15x7 w/205-50-15 toyo proxes tires
winters are alloys from an 87 mr2 s/c'd....14x6 w/ 185-65-14 winterforce tires... my winter setup is NOTICEABLY heavier than my summer setup....so now i have no grip, tire hum AND a heavier setup i can't wait for spring btw, steelies are about 1lb/inch + 1lb....14's are 15lbs, 15's are 16lb, etc (i measured a stock 14" steelie @ 15lbs)
