Unhappy My Yaris got hit today.

My girlfriend's dad backed into my Yaris with his Audi A4 today, I was in HIS car at the time too.
It hurts to look at.
What do you guys think it will cost to fix? Not asking for an exact amount, just a guess.

Not sure if anyone else has had similar damage.

Once my wife backed her Rav-4 into her daughters Tacoma. Nothing I could have said to make her feel better.

Sweet, now you have the upper hand with your gf's dad lol

On a serious note, it shouldn't be over 1k, but it doesn't matter because he's paying lol

Ouch. Yeah, there's nothing really you can say, just try not to make a big deal about it.

That would be a pretty sweet deal considering his A4 is the top spec A4.

Yes, exactly. XD
I didn't think it looked TOO bad, but i'm not sure how much repairs cost.

You can repair it yourself it all looks from the pics like shallow dents no creasing for the door panel.

the frame is another story, if you can live with a dented pillar then just do the panels.

on a side note...how the hell did he back into your car? and how fast was he backing up
Oh sweet! I wish I knew that earlier.
He already made an insurance claim about it though, I've gotta call the insurance people tomorrow.

I was parked in the grass away from his driveway, and we were late to a soccer game. He wasn't paying attention and he was in a hurry, he never looked behind until it was too late and he hit my car. It sucked because I was looking behind the whole time thinking "Okay...you can stop now...right?"
He wasn't going very fast, probably less then 5 MPH. He was backing out slowly in reverse, no gas was applied at the time.

No, not really. The only real visable damage was a little bit of silver paint on his black bumper.

You could remove the panel and attempt to push it out from the inside

Well my guess is $1500-2000 to fix. They most likely will for quickness in the shop install a new door, pull the Bpillar out and reshape, and then repaint it all good as new. What ever his insurance deductable is is what he wil get stuck paying.

AT least it is a simple fix,the dad will take care of it,probably feels really bad right now and could be talked into a new set of wheels....giggle.

I had a small dent in the side front door on my Yaris replaced recently. It was about $400 bucks if I remember properly.

They had to take the panel off, AND match the paint, because if they end up pushing it out, there is likely going to be some paint damage they will have to redo.

I don't know why people suck so much at backing up though. Turn around people!

I would guess closer to the $2000, if not more. Back in 2001, I had similar sized damage on another car except it was door/front fender. They replaced the door skin and just replaced the front fender and it cost $1300 back then...
