First car was a 1982 Toyota Cressida, Light Blue. LOOOOOVED it!! I paid $600, bought it from a minister and the gas gauge didn't work.
Second car was a 1989 Toyota Tercel. Traded the Cressida for it and even talked the dealership into giving me $1000. Woot, love a good profit and screwing the dealerships =) |

First was an 84 Toyota van, the wedge-fronted things with 2 aircons, and two sun-roofs. And the engine under the driver's butt (felt really safe!). Second was my first (now departed) Yaris HB. Now on my second Yaris, third Toyota.

The 09 Yaris was my first Toyota (I've only bought Japanese vehicles for the past 20 years, but this was my first Toyota).
As of next week though I will have 4 in my garage: My 09 Yaris, Crashy (08 Yaris), a 2011 Tacoma double cab TRD Sport pickup, and a 1992 Toyota Celica GT convertible.

I maintained my sister's and mother's Toyotas, both old Coronas, 71 or 72. My sister enjoyed outrunning various pony cars, and mother got 200,000 miles out of hers before rust killed it. They sold me on Toyota, and after working on many other makes, I have yet to find better vehicles out there.
I used a 75 pigup to build my wood car, and it is still running strong. Tough truck, roadster was a riot... |

Had a Tacoma; a Matrix; an Echo; and another Yaris.
Right now my "winter beater" is a 1996 Tercel - it was a Southern car someone brought up and then ruined the motor on (240,000 miles). A new engine (130,000 miles on it) and it's off and running - total investment on a rust-free chassis, $2000. The Tacoma truck was for my home in the woods. Work changed, and I sold the house and moved into a hi-rise. Couldn't park the truck in the subterranian garage; so I bought The Matrix Unloaded. (my name for it). And three months later, stepped in some ca-ca and thought I was fired. I was, for four weeks...and sold the Matrix at a loss. Then of course everything gets all fixed at work. Bought the Echo at that point. I hated that car; didn't like the seating or the styling or the lack of a hatch. Traded it for a Yaris when I could. Abused the Yaris and got out from under it while the getting was good...while it still ran well. Another Yaris, a 2012. |

This is my first owned toyota but I've seen and know other people that have one in the past and present. Like any other automotive, as long as YOU do what's is required to maintain, then the car/truck WILL last a very long time!! But in future plans, I'm going to upgrade to the SE version of my present car or the Camery SE.

The cheapest car Toyota sells, and the cheapest truck Toyota sells... 'cause I'm cheap. |
