Is something leaking?
I opened my hood today, because this morning, when I started the car, it almost sounded like it was dry. I do not know how to explain it. It was idling loud, and was just making a horrible noise. I turned it off, then started it again, and it made the same noise. Once I got to my destination, I turned it off, then re-started it, and it was fine. So the horrible noise came from a cold start. I then looked at the inside of the hood and saw white/pink splats. These were not there a few weeks ago, due to I checked my Transmission fluid, and did not notice the splats. Anyone have any ideas what this is?
Also, I saw there was some white on my belt (pic included). Is this something to be concerned about? |

Can't see the pics. Pink on inside of hood is indication of water pump issues.

weird, I dont know why the pictures didnt show up.
Its more white then pink. Its on the belt (I dont know the name of it), and all over the left side of the hood (when looking at it from the front). I recently got an oil change, and the mechanic said my antifreeze was a little low so he filled it back up. Im not sure if that has anything to do with it, but it seems like a water pump issue. Im going to call and make an appointment with Toyota tomorrow. |

My water pump went at about 13,000 miles.
There was dried pink coolant sprayed from front to back on the hood and inside the water pump pulley. |

The dealership called and said my water pump was bad and needed to be replaced. They replaced it under my warranty so it did not cost me a thing. I have 22k miles on the car.
