205/45/17 planning to lower with H&R Sport Springs

Hi guys,

Ive been looking around the wheel, tire and suspension forums for some time and noticed that a lot in 17 inch rims are using 205/40/17 tires.

I replaced my stock 185/60/15 to 205/45/17 with +45 offset. I was wondering if I will be able to drop this using H&R Sport Springs (approx 1.5in drop) without having rubbing issues?

Also, my current fender gap is 5 fingers. I'm looking forward a conservative drop, about 2 fingers.

Our hatch is only 6months old and I'll be using my stock shocks.

Hope you could give me advice.

Thanks!

I believe with that offset, you'll be alright.

I had 215/35/18 with +42 offset before, lowered with tanabe df210 with the stock struts, and I rubbed slightly on the overfender plastic up front on a large dip.

Tanabe's are about 2in drop right?

My friend's yaris sedan is running on the same wheel specs as yours. He's lowered using Tein S-tech 1.9in drop and he's having minimal rubbing (unless whenever he's loaded with 5 adults on board).

If I only lower the car by 1.5in, I'm hoping that it will be a safe drop. Our roads here in the Phils. are bad :(

You should be good bro. With the Teins I would recommend the 40s. That's what I'm on.
