195/60/R15 or 205/60/R15 : Help me to Decide for 2009 SCP-90 Hatchback Yaris/Vitz
Hi,
I am driving a 2009 hatchback vitz/yaris (SPC-90) with stock suspensions and wheels (with 185/60/R15 tyre) over a year now. Now, I am planning to change the wheels & tires. My choice is : Rim : 7x15 Tyre : 195/60/R15 or 205/60/R15 Can anyone please suggest me if this is a good choice of rims/tires if I stick with my stock suspension and don't use any lowering spring/coils ? Will 195/205 be too wide for a small car like this ? Thanks :) |

Go 205/55 instead of 205/60.
At 205/60, you are looking at your car being risen to almost an inch!! Sent from my A0001 using Tapatalk |

In tire sizing the /60 represents sidewall height. This is not a fixed measurement, rather a ratio of tread width. Therefor, a wider tire with the same aspect ratio as a skinnier tire will have a greater overall diameter.

Btw, do u gyys think my stock suspension and scp90 chasis will be able to handle 205/55/R15 properly ? The roads I use for daily work are pretty rough & have lots of bumps.

And also, moving from 185/60/15 to 195/60 or 205/55.. does it hav any impact on fuel consumption ?

Suspension fine. The wider the tire, the heavier it is, with a wider contact patch affecting rolling resistance. Fuel economy takes a hit.
