Yaris Bull Bar Installation?

Is the Yaris compatible with standard Tacoma bullbars? How much work would be required to fit one on the front of the vehicle?

I had to look up what that is. why is it called a bulbar? when did it stop being a brush guard? why do you want it on your car? it would have to be custom fit i'm sure. price? who knows. i'd guess at least +$200

That's what the large bars on Semis are called. The general idea is to prevent damage to the radiator if you are unlucky enough to hit an animal. That way you can at least get to the next town.

Many of these give the driver a false sense of security that they will suffer no damage if they do hit an animal.

The problem with most of them is that they bolt to the front sub frame, and are quite rigid, so the sub frame buckles if you hit anything reasonably solid. A Toyota Landcruiser with a bullbar ran up the back of my previous car (Holden/Chev Captiva). I had 2 small dints in the rear bumber. The bull bar on the Landcruiser was pushed back into the grill, smashing the driving lights and winch while buckling the sub frame. Ouch!

In answer to my question, though, can they be fitted to a Yaris? How difficult would it be?

I'm not sure anyone has attempted such a thing. Can it be done? Sure! Can it be done cheaply? Probably not! There will likely be a LOT of custom brackets and fitting to make it work.

Here's a few pictures to give you an idea of what you're up against:

A Tacoma is about 6 inches wider than a Yaris, so the bull bar might overhang the sides a bit. You might also have to adjust the front ride height to allow for the extra weight of the bar.

I have a light bar/bull bar type looking thing that screws into the license plate bracket/screwholes if that would work. You can mount two lights as well, although you might have to put spacers if you want to mount Hellas because the housing bumps up against the bar itself. I'll get a picture posted later.

i was researching this for a long time. Haven't seen one done.

Possible, yes. Lots of (custom) work involved.
