Multiple Codes including Airbag
As follows
U0100 EMPS C1201 ABS/VSC/TRAC C1241 ABS/VSC/TRAC B1771 Occupation Detection B1801 SRS Airbag B1811 SRS Airbag It is also accompanied by an airbag light This all occurred after some front end maintenance which included lowering the crossmember and disconnecting the steering assembly. It seems to think that there is a short to the airbag squib. So somehow I've manage to disconnect or fry an ECM module. Where should I look first? I tried resetting the system by disconnecting the battery and by using an ODB2 tool and neither worked. Is this an expensive repair? I don't think it will pass inspection with the airbag light on. |

Bit of a strange combination of codes. The only computer up front in the bay besides the ecm is the abs module. Did that get unplugged? What else got unplugged during this maintenance? There's nothing attached to the cross member or steering rack that should cause that.
Do you have access to techstream? |

Actually, any chance the steering wheel got rotated when disconnected, resulting in damage to the clock spring? That would certainly account for the drivers airbag code.

It is possible that the steering wheel position sensor is also referenced with the ABS so knocking out the clock spring assembly might also effect that. Oddly enough, the horn still works. |

The clock spring likely has two ribbon cables inside. You may have only snapped or dislodged one. I've seen a clock spring where the airbag worked but the rest of the buttons didnt. After pulling it apart I found one ribbon cable broken.
Also good point regarding the angle sensor. May need to be recalibrated. |
