5 Door people warping sound?

Was driving yesterday decided to open just the rear windows a tad.
I guess the aerodynamics of the car creates a vaccum or suction resulting in a 'sonic' wave type sound that is not too plesant on the eardrums.

Has anyone else noticed this?
Is this normal for our cars or 4 doors in general?

Tankota - Thanks. I wonder if the window visors would help at all.

All cars do that. Just open the rear windows a bit. The buffering noise won't be there if you don't open it too large (i.e <10cm). Otherwise opening the front windows helps reduce the buffering noise a bit.

Side visors won't help it that much except where it covers the window and even then, depends on the shape of the side visors.

I have not had a problem with that noise in my tacoma or my wrx. The hatch Yaris is pretty bad. The Lexus RX 300 is bad. I was wondering if a visor would help.

the buffering is especially bad with the yaris when one rear window is down all the way, like others have mentioned, it goes away if you crack open a front window a bit

Happens to me and it is worse with the Yaris than my other cars. But I only use to knock out the hot heat while the A/C is starting. I almost never have my back windows down for any other reason.

Yeah i get that sound too when i have the windows down a bit. It goes away if you have it 1/4 down or 3/4 down.

My Vibe is really bad about that. Roll down the rear windows alone, and it feels like Cthulhu is tryin' to set up camp in my brain. I have window vents also... no change whatsoever. Only way to stop it is to crack the front windows.
