Oh god, the El Camino, it's back...

And has been reincarnated as a higher being...

That's laughably interesting, and strange at the same time.

Reminds me a bit of the skyline stationwagon that someone made. Thing was fast as hell though

You're lucky the double shot of BBQ sauce didn't blow the seam on your nugget box. There she is, 2 pounds of pure beef. My dad ate it in 9.0 seconds flat. Check it out, it's like this. If I lose, winner takes my happy meal. But if I win, I take the burger and the toy. To some people, that's more important.

ford's been making a similar truck like that for years over there...very popular. looks like a mix between the ranger and a focus.

but look at the subaru baja...it's not a big seller over here but it's a good niche for the people who want it....there's no other market except maybe a jeep or small pickup...just too much for someone wanting a car with a little more carry capacity.

i wouldnt get one but i imagine it'd be really popular with the ls3 option or even the ls9 or ls7 engines.

I used to drive a El Camino as a teen . Wasn't that great in winter weather due the light rear end .

my dad had an old elcamino that he dropped a 350 in and had loud cherry bomb exhaust. He had to keep sand bags in the bag just to keep the wheels from spinning. i kinda dig it. thought it was a bmw from the lights and grill at first.

El Caminos get ragged on here and elsewhere but I like them. Back in 1988, I needed a new, cheap, flexible vehicle for commuting. I ended up buying a 1988 Toyota Longbed. If GM had manufactured the El Camino one more year, I would have bought one of those instead. The truck has been very useful over the years but very utilitarian. Having a nicer car interior, the El Camino would have been more pleasant and it would have still been as useful for hauling stuff. It's too bad GM did not bring in the Holden Ute instead of the the sedan (which became the GTO). I would have seriously considered buying one of those...

El Camino? I had a Ford Ranchero for a little while, very useful at the time (1958?) Lusted after a little Falcon Ranchero for awhile, never found one worth buying, and the ones that were worth the money weren't for sale! However, seems to me Ford was first with the concept here in North America; there used to be a Morris Minor version available here in Canada, was it ever cute!
