Most worthwhile mod for Yaris?
Just a poll to see what people think is the single best / most worthwhile mod for the Yaris... thanks.
EDIT: I meant to include wheels, too. If your answer is wheels, please select Other and then say so in a post... in that case, please say whether you started out with steelies or OEM alloys. Last edited by eht13; 03-16-2010 at 05:46 PM. |

My vote was for "Other": None of the above. Yaris is pretty good just the way it is.
Rear sway bar: Unnecessary. Silly. Lowering springs / other suspension: Probably tacky. Engine / exhaust: Likely tacky. Very possibly rude to other drivers and to people whose houses you pass on the road. We give you the finger as you go buy, even if you don't see us doing it. Bodykit / spoiler: Likely tacky. |

^^ suspension is tacky? 4 inches of wheel gap with plastic hubcaps is tacky.
Oh, and the next time a ladder falls on the freeway and I am able to evade it no problem and your yaris goes flying off the freeway in a feeble attempt at avoidance, I'll be sure to make note of how "tacky and silly" my suspension is. |

If you are saying that lowering the suspension height allows one to dodge highway obstacles more effectively, then I would guess that you are in your teens. -Steve |

I'll leave you children to your fun. But... if what you really want is a Scion... why not just buy a Scion? It would sit on the ground, whacking every passing piece of road debris, and have styling that looked far more retarded than you'll ever be able to modify your Yaris to match. All right from the factory. You're taking the long way 'round.

Wheels. If you only do one mod, wheels has to be it.

Back in the 60s people argued that tail fins improved vehicle stability when the fact of the matter was that they were merely fashion statements. I'm seing the same kind of logic here. If you care about avoiding road debris... don't sit your car on the ground. Maintain some ground clearance. |

I dont see how suspension mods can look tacky unless you mean heavily dropped and scraping? Besides who wouldnt agree that the yaris looks like a mini suv on steroids.... and those hubcaps? Seriously? Those hubcaps cheapen the car. Engine modifications are tacky???? most of them you cant even see..... This forum is big on modifications and such so maybe if you dont like that maybe you should just go to a regular generic toyota forum. and yes, I am young, and yes you are old(assuming from the mature response LOL), people are differnt, some people take pride in their car hobbies, some couldnt give a toss. no negativity is needed in this forum and it always breeds flaming, which is what I am doing.... but hey whats a forum without a few lemons. I already know you will flame on me for this, I am looking forward to your response.
