My 03 t spirit has developed a creaky sound in the cab and a squeak in the engine when i press the clutch in. Any one know what the problem is and how to cure it.
thanks |

every toyota does this
it's the pivot ball inside the trans. pull the rubber boot off where the clutch arm goes in, and put a little grease on the pivot ball

It's actually not a ball, but a short rod (less than an inch long) with rounded ends. It look like a small ball because you can only see one end. Anyway, the slave cylinder puts pressure on the clutch arm via this rod, and the end contacting the arm does indeed get dry. The Tacoma forum crew recommends a quick shot of PBR blaster right into the socket of the every oil change. I guess it's it super easy to spray into there with the straw (sort of like a WD-40 can, only bigger) and thickens up so it stays in place...

Hmmm, apparently we are talking about different pivot points. I am talking about the rod between the slave cylinder and the arm which also can be the cause of a squeeky clutch.

usually that's not the one that squeaks, that i've found.. it's the pivot point INSIDE the trans
