Secret Tray - JDM geekness

After looking at the Toyota Vitz optional goods available in Japan, I decided to buy the "secret tray".
You can see it in the photos below. It won't make your car faster or look nicer -I just thought it was a neat item.
It was about 3700yen ($40 USD - damn yen rate!)
I left the part number on the package in case you might want to order yourselves.

Is that a pencil in its pocket, or is the tray happy to see me?

Is that a lump I see in picture 4? Is the underside of the tray area soft?

@blacksandiegovitz - I don't have PayPal, sorry.
@Meteorite Marty - There is a thin rubber mat lining the tray - probably to prevent things from sliding around, that's why it looks bumpy. I didn't flatten it out good enough.
