procrastinators, come on out!

Who hasn't sent out their tax papers yet? (or filed online)

OK, me.

I dread doing it. No matter how I plan for it, seems I'm always short a few hundred dollars and have to pay extra state taxes on April 15. Or maybe California is just out to get me ? j/k

So, anyone else put it off til the last minute?

Or did you get your a tax refund already?
if you did, did you buy anything cool with it or put the $$ back in your pocket?

Relax, you've got another week.

We did ours about a month ago, and got our refunds soon after that.

I waited till last weekend because I am a subcontractor who doesn't take out for taxes :( The overall number wasn't pretty for what I owed. Lets just say I wont be moding my car any time soon.

Hmmm....hopefully this weekend, but I always seem to do it at the last minute, even
when I get a refund.

I'm with Slick - what deadlines?
Refund? Biggest ever was $32 from the State - never seen one from the Feds.

I got them done as soon as I could. With turbotax. My entire refund went towards my credit cards :(

Did the initial return awhile ago... Paid for my extra set of rims for the car... Waiting on my amended return amount to come back... Probably won't see that till May... That will probably go towards a deposit for the wedding reception venue...

fill out your W-2 or 2-4 or whatever with more with holdings. I always get money back... next year i'll be married too... so I should get even more back. I'm usually one of the worst procrastinators... but this is money for me.... so you know i'm up on it. Think I had my refund deposited in my bank by Feb 20th.

some people say that if you have too much withheld that you are giving the govt an interest free loan... yeah... you also get a lump of cash at the beginning of the year. Tho, if you had that extra $10, $20, 50, or $100 a month you most likely would've just wasted it on consumable products and not have anything to show for it.... so it seems more withholdings are the way to go unless you are a great saver, or stick strictly to a budget and investment plan.

Ditto.... sad day. I went 2 years without paying a cent of interest on my credit card... then the GF quit her job, went to grad school. That in additon to the ring I had bought for her a few months before forced me to keep a balance on the credit card... oh well, hoping to have the card completely paid off by the end of summer.

As a college student who is still a dependant, i owe money, like 46 bucks. Seeing im co buyer on the Yaris 09, my dad will get the tax dedecution. Hopefully my education credit: (American Opportunity) will get me money back though i only pay for books, dad takes care of tuition.

I do volunteer income taxes at my school for low income people (students, families), its funny when people get angry at us. Its not OUR fault, blame the gov't.

I'm finishing tonight. I have to do three Schedule C's (one for each company), so it's a little tedious. TurboTax does a real nice job, then we go to H&R Block and have them look for mistakes, just for insurance.

I paid estimated quarterlies, I don't expect a huge tax burden this time.
