Cool I jumped off a 65-foot ledge into a lake today

Look hard and you can see me smack in the middle of the photo, facing to the left as I psych up for my first ever 65-foot jump into a cold mountain lake. My friend Randy is on the right. I had a pucker factor of about 9:

You can see more pics of our adventure at Angora Lake today at http://www.facebook.com/album.php?ai...1&l=4194e2ee01

It's a public album so no Facebook account is required.

Brian, you're crazy. I had the opportunity to climb and jump off of a 100-foot tree back in high school, I didn't do it. I just can't jump off of high places. LOL. I hate heights, but I love roller coasters for some reason. hahahaha.

It's impossible to tell in a 2D photo, but I'm at least 10 feet from rocks on all sides. That's more than enough as the rocks go straight down into the water.

The water temperature varied from about 55F to 65F depending on which part of the lake you were in. The coldest spot was one corner where a stream from still-melting snow up top was coursing down the rocks and into the lake.

Correction: I have been informed by several sources that what we thought was a 50-foot jump is actually 65 feet. The shorter ledge that my friend Randy jumped off for his second attempt was the 50 foot one.
