if the light beam lights up blue, then you might get into troubles easily.

use the sheet of white paper test, if it lights up some other colour then it's bad.

I feel no remorse for you... blue lights are for emergency vehicles only.

If your dad is running oem lights... then you'll be off the hook... if the lights are aftermarket and are close to blue but not really, then you only have to give prove the identity of the lights, and that they aren't actually blue.

but if you were running blue bulbs cause they are cool... well... serves you, and your dad right.

Uuuuhh... do you have blue lights? Yeah, you're not supposed to have blue lights; they're illegal. Did you not know that or are you somehow surprised you got in trouble for having illegal equipment?

Let's reserve judgement. Hopefully he's smarter than that.

You're not supposed to have blue lights of any kind. Period. It doesn't matter if they are under the car or if you have a flashlight in your hand. You legally cannot have visible blue light showing from a car. But to actually mount blue lights on your car (and have them on while on a public road). . . is a very very big no-no.

Size is of no relevance. It's illegal to steal, no matter how small the currency is. . . a million dollars or $0.05. If you go to bank, draw a gun, and ask for $0.05, you're still going to jail for armed robbery.

The law says no blue lights. Size or light type does not matter.

Yeah i know it's illegal, isn't it everything is illegal now anyways?

The *&&^ LED lights are on the car for more than 3 years, it's not even flashing, it's just like One Small Led light that you can barely see at day time. I know it's illegal somehow "flashing"? 2 inch round diameter? ......?
but didn't know the damn ticket is almost 1000 dollars.

You seem like a nice guy and I'm not being too nice either. . . so here's some help:

If you go to court, you might be able to lessen the fine. Change the light in question (take before and after pics) and plead for a lesser fine. IMO, the fine is a bit much, but a lot of people abuse blue lights. The cop was probably making an example out of you (that or you managed to really tick him off). You may want to consult a traffic lawyer, but I think brutal honesty and extreme politeness in court should be able to help you out. $764 is a bit much for an LED and I'm sure most reasonable judges will agree.

But yeah. You shouldn't be surprised that it's illegal. Flashing or not flashing, big or small, NO BLUE LIGHTS of any kind of a car. No stobe lights, no neons, no red lights in front, no glare in the eye HID's, no more than 2 foglights, no granny-shifting double-clutching like you shouldn't fail and the furious lameness.

If people get out of speeding tickets im sure you can get out of a ticket for a miniscule blue L.E.D.

$764 is steep, but in today's economy, it's understandable. Cities going broke, need revenue!!!

Locally, police are cracking down on everything, instead of catching murders they rather write jaywalking tickets.

oh no u broke the law lol, u got a ticket, here let me give u some advice that someone else told me about my speeding ticket....

"You've got an issue. It is YOUR issue. Gain some real personal character, have some honor, and integrity.
Pay the ticket and don't come crying when YOU'VE broken the law. Don't break the law and you won't have problems."

but i think thats a little too much for a blue light really. ive seen so many people with them dumb stupid windsheild washer blue lights, and their wipers blue, or their door handles blue, etc.

there are a bunch of light laws that they can get you on. For example, your headlights must be above a certain distance from the ground. So if you lower your car, you run the chance of getting a ticket for your headlights too low. Can't remember right off hand what the amount is though. I was thinking it was around 24 inches.

scenario 1:

I am hurt. I am in town, crawling for help. I spy a blue light somewhere...I can't
see so well... things are fuzzy, but BLUE is safety. could be a campus rape light, could be a cop....I go to the light. I don't find the police, I find some punk.
