Exclamation Help! I've got a weird sound

ok so I have been a member for a while but this is my first post...

I have a 2009 3 door LB with a manual transmission... (his name is Yoshi BTW) he has about 33,000 miles on him and I just recently drove him cross country after having him being driven by my mom for three months (plus I really don't know her driving habits)

well my problem is that I have just noticed that when I shift from 1st gear into 2nd and sometimes when I shift into higher gears I hear a "chirp" from the engine area.

The sound is best described as if there where a single cricket in my transmission that got poked when I up shifted.

I havent noticed any thing different in the way that he drives or shifts but the sound scares me!

should I be scared? Is it something that I should be worried about? or checked out?
