Surgery a success!
Hi Everyone:
I just got released Friday (6/17) from translabyrinthine craniotomy surgery performed on Tuesday 6/14 in Pittsburgh. I was diagnosed back in February this year with a recurrence of a vestibular schwannoma, aka an acoustic neuroma (AN) tumor of the cerebellopontine angle (CPA) in the posterior fossa of the brain. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vestibular_schwannoma http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0001782 This highly technically demanding craniotomy was performed by an otolaryngologist and neurosurgeon team in tandem using the translabyrinthine approach at Pittsburgh Ear Associates – Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. I'm spending my time in Pittsburgh with my aunt for convalescence and rehabilitation. Keep me in your prayers for a speedy recovery. My head still hurts... it has only been four days. I'll be driving my Yaris in six weeks... from what the doctor says ![]() Cheers! Mark
