Sound System for 2Dr HB - Toyota Yaris Forums

Can anyone recommend a good set up to just add some bass to the existing stock stereo setup? Something clean and not more than $600? No cutting or major modification. Please post pics, if you can.

Are you looking at a full setup? Speakers, Amps, Tweeters, Sub, etc?

I right now, I run Kenwood component and tweeter combo up front. And for now i have the stock rear speakers, soon to be changed with some coaxial speakers. All of that is powered by 1000-Watt Kenwood Amp.

For my sub I have a two 12" Pioneer all boxed in a regular bassworx box. Nothing fancy yet, and it does the trick for now. The subs are powered off an 1800-Watt Mono D Amp.

I would suggest maybe, one 10" sub, regular box, 600-Watt Amp. That should give you the bass your looking for. That shouldn't break the bank either ;)

For what you seem to be wanting I think you should go with the Infinity Basslink or Basslink 2. They can both be had for well under 300$ and come packaged all in one tight unit. I have seen nothing but the best reviews for it. Plus it will leave you with AT LEAST half of your trunk space for storage. Then just throw in some components up front and coaxials in the rear. You can be well under 600. Also the Basslink 2 can be had with an optional 35x4 amp in it to run your front and rear speakers. I don't figure the stock head unit for very much power.

Great Idea, I totally forgot about that option. That is probably the least expensive way. Great size, and great bass, what else could you ask for?

I can reccomend some great components for you that will land well under $600, and provide alot more output and clarity than a basslink, bazooka, or any other pre-packaged unit.

Will the Infinity Basslink or Basslink 2 fit under the rear seat or under the passenger front seat?

If not, which self-contained/powered subwoofers WOULD have those kinds of dimensions? I cannot give up any rear cargo space; I'll be doing most of my driving with the rear seat folded down.

Also, the dogs would probably try to eat anything back there that sticks out or is not anchored..

I dont see any prepackaged unit fitting under the passengers seat. However, my idea would be this...Place the sub in a flush mount on the trunk to where the magnet would rest in the spare tire cavity. I belive EtimeGo or whatever has a set up like this. Then place the amp on the underside of the tire cover on the left side. You will just have to take the left storage tray out. This will keep all the wires hidden and still retain all usable trunk space.

I think the tiny powered subs from JVC and Kenwood that Crutchfield carries might. Those aren't really for anyone looking for real bass, but for someone simply looking to fill out the low-mids a bit more, they're an option.

The JVC is possible it might mount under the seat. The Kenwood def not. The thing about those are they only have small 6.5" of less woofers. You might as well go spkrman's route and get really good 6.5" front and rears for that. Both the JVC and Kenwood would fit in the trunk next to the spare tire where the right storage\jack bin is. You would have to take that bin out but then both the JVC and Kenwood would fit there. I measured :)
