Okay I guess now that I have time to post..... This is a great piece of art work and it is very functional!!! I got mine last week and have been driving with it for a week and it is great!! Very easy to install if you have the cold air intake.

I love my NST SSK. Installation was almost too easy, it took 5 minutes. My shifts are so much better than stock now, those of you who don't have one are really missing out. Go get one now!

Would NST consider making a Version 2 of the short shifter that gives a little longer throw and lighter shift action?

Perhaps 50% of the stock throw?

i bought it awhile ago. It was my first mod. Easy install took me like 5 minutes. It was hard at first but for couple of miles, it was smooth and short. NST does make a great products! Now, cant wait for pulley, alt, and water pump kit!!

I've just driven my car after almost two months of waiting. I installed the SSK while it was still being worked on and the stock intake was removed, so it was extremely simple to setup.

As far as the feel goes, it's certainly an improvement over stock, although it does make a bit more strength to get it into the proper gear. I'm thinking one out of two will happen: Either it will become softer after a while, or I'll get used to it.

Either way, I'm loving this mod so far. It does make the Yaris more fun to drive. Oh, and the price is pretty good too.

Just installed mine today. Thanks to Paul and the guys at Dezod as well as Mike and the NST team and of course all of you who contribute to YW.

I would call it a firmer feel with more precision. I have no problems shifting into 5th or reverse like other members have reported.

I agree with KIOSHI that this SSK gives it a feel much like that of the 350z/G35.

so I saw on a later thread that the kit in the engine bay has a 30% shorter throw, the one in the cab has a 25%shorter throw. Is this true? The one that goes in the cab I saw was a little cheaper, so does the extra 5% make that big of a difference? Is it worth the couple extra dollars?

This is a good question.

The traditional engine bay SSK, NSTSSK09, has been available for a long time, and is the easier of the two to install and remove. Most people use this version.

The newer in-cabin SSK, NSTSSK09-2, is also a great item and is cheaper, but requires a little bit more effort for installation.

These different pieces have been designed to give you options and choices, and to allow the more ambitious owners to have a combo that will provide a very very short throw, when both pieces are used.

You can use either/or. Decide what works best for you, and buy the one you like, or buy both!

That is the NST way

I have a question. Does this kit get rid of the mushy felling when you shift?
