harness bars!!!

Hey guys, I apologize for the wait I know you have all been patiently waiting..... so without further ado, I present to you the harness bar, the test fit was on a sedan, I will be test fitting one on a liftback this week. I plan to sell them uncoated, leaving it up to the owner to powdercoat, I believe this will be easier for those of you wanting to color match your interiors or whatever. If you would like your harness bar powdercoated a standard color like black or silver, I can have that done for you with added cost. I am still finalizing the pricing, but it looks like uncoated the cost will be 200$, if you want yours coated, I will have to find the cost of powdercoating. These should be available the end of this week. The tubing is all 4130 chromoly, Tig welded up. In the pictures you may notice the piece isn't welded, it was just all tacked together to test fitment.

a harness bar lets you properly attach and use a harness with aftermarket seats. it does at a little bit of rigidity as well.....and i want one. :)

i recommend selling it with some foam padding as another kit, because if you do have passengers ever, and get into an accident, theyre gonna have some missing teeth...

And on the B Pillar, is it just attached to plastic?

Is this intended to replace the factory seatbelts? Because if it is, I sure hope you've tested it to see how much weight it'll hold before giving way.

If its also meant to add stiffness to the car as an incidental benefit, this is hardly a full-on rollcage.

Based on what I can see, it does little more than add weight, unless you used large-diameter chromoly tubing throughout firmly welded to the bodyshell.

its not attached to plastic, it uses the same mounting points as the factory seat belt system. the mounting tab is 3/16" chromoly, I'm not sure how much more substantial you would want it. I won't include any foam to put on the bar... it's not something you can have installed while having passengers in your rear seat, foam or not. You can install it with or without the factory seat belts in place, if you have passengers in your car occasionally, it can be removed with 4 bolts, leaving the brackets in place.
It probably does little to add rigidity, the main purpose is aside from a roll cage, there is no way to attach 4pt harnesses in your car.

this is really only useful to people who track their cars or want to put in harnesses the correct way and dont have people ride in the back. any date on sales yet, im actually doing a redline time attack this summer and would like to get this AND seats installed before hand.

I'l buy one from you for sure ! I was really hoping you were gonna complete this harness bar project. I cant see any real flaws in design. Do you have a shop to do the powder coating, how much?
