Need help connecting sub etc for TV sound..

I'm having a brain freeze and need a bit of info about connecting a 2 channel stereo amp to this powered subwoofer that has a hi-pass filter for satelite speakers..
This will be a 2.1 sys for a TV etc .

Is the following correct?

1) TV audio Low-Level out goes to the sub Low- Level in.
2) The sub Low-Level out goes to the stereo amp Lo-level in.
3) The stereo amp speaker out goes to "Hi-Level speaker in" on the sub,
4) "Hi-Level speaker out" on the sub goes to the satelite speakers.

BTW, this is a "Dayton Audio SUB-80". I will be replacing the stock speaker with a "Tang Band W8-740p" for some really tight bass.

The stereo amp will be a 20w RMS per channel "Lepai Tripath TA2020 class T" amp.

I have not decided on the satelites yet but, I'm looking at the "Polk OWM3" speakers.
Any suggestions?

You could do it that way if you want.If your wanting to use the high pass filter. But if not, why not take the TV audio right to the stereo and output from there to the sub and satellite speakers? Less back and forth wiring....

If the Stereo doesn't have a low level SUB output then only run the SPEAKER level output from the stereo to the sub and THEN to the speakers.

Don't run the low level from the TV to the SUB or you'll have full blast on the sub as soon as everything turns on. The volume level won't be controllable on the sub that way.

YES! I told you I had a laps of memoy.

I did find out that is exactly all I have to do to utilize that sub's auto on and high- pass filter.

One thing to consider is that the sub will probably in a relatively inaccessable place and it has auto on and off so, it will tun on when ever I turn the TV on.
On the other hand, the stereo amp will be easily accesable.

Also, I definately want to use the subs variable high-pass filter. I do not want to feed low frequencys into the satellites as the stereo amp will only be 20w RMS per channel (into 4 ohms/about 10- 15w max into to 8 ohms) and I want the cleanest sound possible from them.
Anyway, the way I outlined it will only use four sets of wires. not that much IMO. I just wanted to verify that I could do it that way. They wont be seen anyway.

I also plan on installing a switch on the TVs output (if nessary) so I do not have to use the sub evey time I turn the TV on.

I still have to find out if I can control the TVs audio output with the TVs remote and even what output I wiil use.
The TV wiil be delivered early next week.
AIT delivery takes forever it seems.

I guess I wiil have to wait until I get everything so I can experiment to see what is best for me and the hardware.

Go to a pon-shop and trade in your stereo for a newer one with a Sub output if you want the best sound then. You could probably pick up an old Yamaha system for cheap now or another high end system.

I'm definately using the "Lepai Tripath TA2020".

Even though there have been some quality issues with them , they are legendary for their sound quality from such a very small amp, and they only cost about $20.

Keep in mind that it is 20w RMS Per channel (into 4 ohms), not some BS peak power.

BTW, I am not interested in wall shattering sound. I just want a clean sound with a relatively flat resonse at low to mid volumes without spending too much.

You can even use them in your car, All you need is a 12v/3amp power source and a low-levey input source, even a MP3 player etc. etc.
