Well I bought a $40 Infra Red RC Helicopter on Saturday. Was extremely happy with it. Flown it a dozen times or so, including into walls, roof, floor, furniture and pugs.....
Started getting pretty good at it. But then I think I broke the stabiliser bar or something that connects the stabiliser to the props. Took it back to where I bought it and now a 12 day wait on repair commences. Good news is no repair is more than $15 ![]() The thought of being without a RC Chopper for up to 12 days after vertually just getting one was bothering me. So I bought a second $40 RC Chopper. Same brand, different make. I figured when I get the other one back from repair i'll be able to fly one, while the other one is charging and vice versa. Anyway I figured a lot of you on here could have all kinds of cool RC stuff. Post up your pics and specs in this thread. I also intend on getting an Parrot AR Drone 2.0 when they are released. You can control them via your iPhone or Android phone. Here is a review of the Parrot AR Drone 2.0 Here is a pic of my chopper charging, then a pic of it charged, then a pic of the Parrot AR Drone 2.0 I want when it's released. Make sure to read the review and watch the video in the review.

I used to work in the hobby industry from 2001-2006. Got to drive (and own) some great RC cars, and even a few planes (among other hobby products). Had a Team Losi LST-2, Schumacher Havoc, and a few others. I actually sold all my stuff except for a tiny RC plane and a miniature heli.

Check out the EFlite Blade MSR - more pricey than the one you have, but WELL worth it IMHO. Second pic added to show scale.

I've been building models for 65 years now, been into radio control since the 60s. I owe everything to that hobby: I learned construction, power management, electronics, meteorology, on and on. Our group went to the r/c World Championships for sailplanes for a couple of years, scared the hell out of everyone, made them change the rule book, so I guess I learned about politics as well.
I still have about 20 models ready to fly (and a helicopter) and kits for about 30 more. I could live to be 120 and still no complete all the projects I have in mind. Best part is that it can be as cheap or expensive as your budget allows... |

Okay, I'll brag...
Rubber-powered, 54" wing span Aeronca; test glides are a long walk back, will be good exercise this spring. Stinson Model U r/c electric, the Other 3-engine airliner... F89 Scorpion slope glider, very fast in strong winds. Too cold out there to take more pics; like I said, lots more in the shop! |

Very nice TLyttle.
The helis I show are indoor flyers and about all I can handle right now. I actually have an outdoor Heli too, but it scares the crap out of me! I've only tried hovering it a few times. Just don't feel good enough that I won't wreck the thing on a real flight. I have a hard enough time controlling the indoor helis - and they are very stable. |

I also have an indoor heli, my second. One must remember that a helicopter is an aircraft that does not want to fly! Even a 747 has the ability to glide quite well, but just shut off the motor on a heli and see how far you DON'T fly...
I have built hand-launch gliders and lost them to thermals with NO control system at all. Funny feeling, that: happy that it flew so well, sad to have lost a really good model. |

Well, I had a eflite MCX until last night. The 5 in 1 went out and it cost almost as much as the heli, so I'm out for awhile... Butr I have a Traxxas Slash, Academy SBV2, LST2, Jammin CRT and a eflite CX2 as back ups, so I'll get by till I get a new one....

I happen to have two MCX's I intend to sell. If you're interested in one for parts or as a replacement, let me know. They're both in perfect working order.

To me, jets are just another "mine is bigger than yours" ego trip. A Brit has a B52, 8 turbines, flies about as well as my Stinson, but brings in noise complaints from up to 5 miles away...
I one wants to go REALLY fast, have a look at dynamic sailplanes, 400+ MPH! Can't find the link, sorry. |
