Going for broke
My greedy mind has taken over my satisfaction of having a dead reliable setup. Im putting my car back on the dyno, with race gas (C16) and targeting boost to 35psi . I have no idea if the motor will survive. This motor has 45,000 miles of racing and daily driving, but it has been solid thus far. Only thing I have to upgrade to achieve that boost is my map sensor ( current one maxes out at 30psi).
September 3rd Im headed to the dragstrip, and will post results. Hoping for 11.7 @125mph... which would be insane

I have a feeling the 1NZ will take it like a champ. Good luck regardless!

will be interesting to see...I am figuring that my boost will need to be that high if not more next summer to achieve my goals.

lol. I think he means don't pedal 2nd. Couple changes since last 1/4 mile visit also includes a Kaaz lsd along with Yaris gears, 2nd gear should hook for sure w/slicks at MIR. MIR is always prepped very well.

Oh I know...but just saying if someone was able to do 125 in 2nd gear that would be insane...impossible I would imagine, but insane. I do know that my buddy's nissan hardbody can get to over 160 before shifting out of 3rd. I will have to ask him for grins again what he shifts at from 2nd on his sr20. I will also have to jog my memory on what tranny/rearend he is running.

stock head, stock block with pistons and rods. Ive been on the 27psi tune for a long time, just want to tune beyond with race gas (same map) for drag use only. If the motor survives the dyno and a few drag passes at that boost, then the boost is coming back down.

So you can just up the boost and run it without any additional tuning? that gives me ideas...

It will be good to know what the limits of a none sleeved 1nz will be capable of. I would love to try that with stock compression and run E85 fuel with a proEFI stand alone $$$$.
Garms co worker was telling me that someone was possibly coming out with a main cap girdle for the 1nz. I bet that could extend your limits with all alluminum block. |

Good luck!!! |

Didn't someone run a built 1nz-fe with about 32psi to 501whp, so in simple theory a your 35psi could cross 400hp and scare more of those V-8 guys at the track. the trick will be being able to get traction off the line with out spinning the wheels and blowing the engine. this is surely a curious set to see what happens.
