Exclamation Behaviour Thread

FLOUNCE is when a member leaves for good. It is actually a sad day and weakens the community as a whole.

A Plea for Help by eTiMaGo
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I think most of you can agree that this place has just not been the same since the hack. I know that I, for one, had lost heart in my moderating duties and we let of a lot of antisocial behavior happen.

So, this is why I want help from all members to make YarisWorld as good as it can be, a friendly place you can come to for the following reasons:

1) Learn about your car, whether you are a new owner or one of the first
2) Read about other people's cars, their experiences, their modifications
3) Relax and have some fun, that's what we have the off-topic section for.

That means we all have to respect ourselves and each other. Just like we all learned many years ago, if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all. You know who you are that I am talking to We have a lot of good, knowledgeable members leaving because they are tired of this childish behavior.

And everyone else, if you see someone acting like an ass, report it, don't go and add fuel to the fire. It's our job as moderators to take care of this.

Ladies and gentlmen I agree with Thomas on his request. This morning I read a very disturbing comment left by kurokoma-kun who was offended by the language and locker room attitudes. I consider her leaving a greater loss than a member having an accident.

The off topic section is a fun place but slowly it has gone fully R rated to worse.

Consider these suggestions:

Would you want your Mother, Sister, Daughter, Girlfriend to read some of the language?

A single picture post of a woman in the hottie thread is good but lately it appears to be a contest to see who can post every topless girl in their hemisphere. We know pretty ladies are out there.

The adult banter is fine but we (myself included) need to retrurn to where we were "pre-hack".

Take a look at your signatures....... let's clean it up a bit.

Read Tom's request.
Give out the Yarisworld cards.
Let's build this place up again.

Bob

To be honest, I am also getting sick of the attitude that some of the stuff forum members have been posting. About 80% of the posts lately have been about things that have nothing to do with the Yaris.

We need to do a lot better than this if we want YW to return to its former glory.

Yep..I'll behave more myself and apologize for my contributions to the less-than-stellar topics of late.

a lot of people here have been very insulting towards lesser experiences owners. Particularly about "joking" with them. Often a newbie asks a question which may appear to be hilarious. but often times the poster has no idea that they have posted such a funny question.

we were all new once upon a time ago.
Joking about a newbie or making fun of them will NOT make them want to become permanent posters. Why offend the new people.

a lot of the time, New people bring in the new stuff that keeps this website alive...

wake up people.
be nice to the new people.

Im a long time member of this forum who recently returned after some time away. Now after looking around a few days I find YW isn't the place i left.

Yeah, we had plenty of smart asses here then but at least there was good solid information from people like Violin. Also people knew how to laugh (starting with me). Now 90% of YW is just crap posted by kids I dont want to talk to or be associated with. A real shame.

On one hand this IS the off topic section after all. I don't mind some banter and debate. Keep it as free and open as it can be. Not to sound clique` but, let people be real.

What I don't like is when one of the old guard is insulting but then someone with less post counts objects the mods declare it a sausage fest and close the thread.
