looks like a hydro plane to me, he wasn't even doing anything stupid it just sneaked up on him and the rear wheel decided to go to a different than he was traveling.

That's amazing . We have an '11 FIT . The '12 and '13 have a stronger roof for rollovers . Think it's rated 5 for '12 and '13 , then 4 for the '09 > '11 .

Don't care for smooth new road surfaces when wet . Especially on interstates .

Driving to work today going about 40 mph I hit my brakes for a redlight, slid strait through, fortunately it was 3:30 a.m. and there was only one other car at the intersection, who's signal hadn't turned yet. Its a pretty crazy feeling, I should of pumped the breaks but that was the last thing on my mind. In my case it was lightly misting, but it hasn't rained in a while so the oil was picked up off the road just enough to make it glide.

Looks like a typical hydroplaning situation. The only thing that I see on the video is that there were other cars on the side of the road already, and it looks like people in front of the fit were slowing down already.
Doesn't look like the fit slowed down ... but we will never know this. I think that the fit driver was somewhat driving with his head up his ***.
But then again .. it does look pretty harmless watching the video. I am just happy that I drive a Yaris.

Maybe his tires had very little tread . The Dunlop SP31 A/S that are O.E.M. don't do very well in the rain , even when new . The Ecopia 422s' do much better . See many vehicles in parking lots with near bald or bald tires . Some being winter tires in mid spring through late summer

So many of the roads in AL are like that. The pavement is that real smooth stuff that is so black you can't see jack crap when it's raining at night. It makes for a nice smooth ride but I hate it when it rains. My fiance had a situation similar to this on her way to work a few weeks ago and ended up in a tree. Luckily the nose of her vehicle buried up in the ground a bit so she wasn't going fast enough for the airbag to even deploy when she hit. It's easy to do for sure though. She's got an AWD vehicle now, lol.

Definitely hydroplanned, look at the huge puddle of water the truck in front of him (to the left) goes through just before he hits it. There was a lot of water on the road not draining off, the construction vehicles on the right lead me to believe there was work in progress on that road.

I've had three bad-weather accidents, two resulting in totaled vehicles. Ya gotta slow down in wet conditions, it's simply too easy for something like this to happen to risk driving at the usual speeds...
