Turbo.
With modifying sport compacts Turbo will always be the victor. You can only go so far in promoting raw power on a naturally aspirated 4 cylinder engine. Now, It does depend on the ngine and ease of modifications as well. Take the Honda Prelude Sh with the H22a engine. This motor is a NA terror and melts down when Turbo'd. It's meant for the all motor power house. It's not that you can't Turbo this engine, but it's so prone to failure it's usually isn't worth the trouble. |

i think engine response wise, an all-motor will be better. but for me, i can't get enough of that blow-off valve woooosh. so i would go with a turbo.

To tell you the truth for about the same amount of money as a turbo for our car, you can do a 2zzge swap and have the same amount of HP + a 6 speed manual trans, higher reving motor, and capibilty of forced induction at a later time for more HP..... just a lil food for though.... I have been reasearching the 2zzge a lil more lately, and it does not seem like a difficult swap

Also, unless you can do the install yourself, you'll have $3000 in labor alone for a custom conversion, even if it will fit. |

it all depeds on the model of car and the engine. if you are ONLY talking about the 1NZ-FE then forced induction is the only choice for me. if swaps were availbale for this platform then depending on which engine you choose, you could go either way.
theres a fine line between a enjoyable car with good power/handling package and one with nothing but torque steer and unreliable performance. it all depends on the setup, engine, tuning and suspesion upgrades which are done to the car. |
