Detecting Opened Email
If you send someone an email, is it possible to tell somehow if they have opened it or not?

Generally not. Some Microsoft Exchange server/webmail app etc allow you to mark it with a notice to notify the sender when received, so that you'll get an email back when they open it - however this usually only works with internal emails within a corporation/supporting clients.

do you mean if you send an email to someone online? or within your network at work?
I would go with no, most of the time, and at work, it depends on how your mail is handled. Certain mail clients will let you see the "properties" of the mail, whether or not you sent a confirmation request. |
