I am trading in my Yaris for a Honda Fit

It's been a lovely ride, guys. You have helped me through so much -- my every-thousand-mile (pronounced as one word) oil changes, my bizarre experiments with mounting wings on my Yaris, and of course, the great debate over Royal Purple GEAR OIL. Most recently, though, my Yaris decided it was a Prius. It nearly lost control on the highway; partially because of the amazingly reduced drag due to my duct tape modifications and partially because of that stupid floormat. I managed to save myself and not lose control. Now I am doing a straight across trade and because I told no one of the failure, It will be like it never happened. I will be coming back now and then to post updates on Honda's staggering superiority over Toyota, but if you ever really get tired of me, just send me an email or add me on Windows Live messenger.

You're lucky the double shot of BBQ sauce didn't blow the seam on your nugget box. There she is, 2 pounds of pure beef. My dad ate it in 9.0 seconds flat. Check it out, it's like this. If I lose, winner takes my happy meal. But if I win, I take the burger and the toy. To some people, that's more important.

There's nothing wrong with a fit, but you're trading your car, loosing thousands of dollars in the process, all because of a floor mat?

I don't know if I'm misunderstanding this or what. . .

. . . and so the accelerator got stuck (if it even did), your amazing 103hp accelerating you an extra 2MPH over the course of 5 minutes, you somehow mustered the time to react and hit the brakes and/or shift to neutral.

Stuff like this is common, it just gets blown out of proportion by the news. In fact, stuck throttles, failing clutches, broken shifters are all but common place on motorcycles, and that's they have kill switches and things like. . . I hope you never encounter a REAL emergency like a complete tire blowout at highway speeds. To survive that, you'll have to use the steering wheel, ease off the gas (with finesse) and slow down without any use of brake. Imagine that!

I'm sorry, you might have some power mods, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and say you have 104HP. . . which would be. . . what 80WHP?

Not to rip on the Yaris, but any car with less than 150HP (which would be around what a turbo'd Yaris would do), a stuck accelerator is not that big of a deal. You could probably sit back and sip some coffee before you were in any REAL danger.
