Exclamation What a day. My Birthday...

Well so far anyway.

I got a free movie ticket for my birthday from the cinema, so I thought I’d go an see Inception. Turns out Tuesday is tight arse Tuesday so a couple of seniors were in the cinema. Whilst watching the movie, which you have to really concentrate on (anyone who's seen Inception will agree), two seniors, a husband and wife decided to chat through the movie.

There was only about 10 people in the cinema, after about an hour I’d had enough of there constant chatting. I approached them and said "Do you normally go to the movies to chat? SHUT UP" then I walked back to my seat and the elderly woman said "How rude, how dare you tell me to shut up".

It's a movie cinema for crying out loud. So I stormed back over and said "How dare you call me rude when you're talking through the movie, SHUT UP". I walked back to my seat and they were still yammering away.

I yelled at the top of my voice "I TOLD YOU TWO TO SHUT UP" and the whole cinema turned on them and said "YEAH SHUT UP".

They shut up and I was happy, as was the rest of the cinema. Normally I’d go and get a staff member to deal with people like this, but felt the movie was so deeply involved that the 5 minutes it would take for me to get someone I’d miss something important and being seniors they weren’t going to pick a fight with me.

Anyway they kept there mouths shut for the rest of the movie, the movie ended and I left as soon as the credits rolled up to avoid any awkwardness.

I then went to the post office to post something for my wife and claim a $50 money order my in laws had sent me for my birthday. Then I decided to cash in a winning lottery ticket from a syndicate I had from work.

Whilst there I put on two tickets of my own for two different draws with decent jackpots $30 and $15 Million. So I was hungry and thought I’d go to the bakery, on the way I slipped down a flight of stairs, it had been raining and the stairs and handrail were wet. I rolled a few times, but managed to hold onto the handrail from the top all the way to the bottom by sliding my grip.

I thought to myself, should I buy another lotto ticket or did I just use up my luck by not cracking my head open or breaking any bones and such. So I called it a day and went home without food.

I pull into my street and there is a guy struggling to push his car off the road into his driveway, so I jumped out and helped him.

Then I went inside my place and got changed as I was wet from the fall and wanted to check out any damage I’d inflicted on myself.

Not a scratch, my knees, back and forearms are sore. Knees and back from the tumbling and forearms from holding onto the handrail. Then I took the dogs to get their nails clipped, it had been 3 weeks and they had nails like a velociraptor!

Then I came home. Hope dinner tonight at the restaurant is going to go well. If you've made it this far well done.

jeez, good thing you didn't break anything in that fall, that would have made having a good birthday nearly impossible. happy birthday, and try to be more careful

Funny, we were giggling iwhen we got in our seats (because we were excited to get tickets, the entire room was PACKED) and we got in, got good seats, too, and some asshole told us to shut up... the movie hadn't even started yet!!!! What a jerk No-one made a single sound during the movie. Probably because it takes all your concentration, especially in the beginning. Back to you....

Sounds like you had a busy b'day day! Happy belated B'day, Tony.

But I must ask, what is " tight arse Tuesday" ?

Agreed, and if you cant get into the movie cause your too old and the hampster doesnt spin on the wheel anymore to get that brain working, don't just sit there chatting, get up and walk out.

Thanks.

"Tight Arse Tuesday" is a term we use over here, the cinemas put their prices down on Tuesdays as it is the quietest day of the week for them, so to put bums on seats they put the prices down.

Normally all the tightarses (people who either have little money, or a lot and hold onto it) come out in droves to save a couple of bucks on a movie.
