I had the impression from SB that
as long as there is a clear path between your ears and the speakers should work fine.
I like the sparkles from the tweeters above 10kHz up in the a-pillars but I've seen many people go tweeter less.
I did try once and it was pretty cool but even pushing the HL-70's I couldn't get them to play high enough.
