I disagree. I put about 40k miles on mine with great results. The last 2 years I ran them I used them as siped winter tires and they performed well up until they didn't have decent tread left. I always kept them at the proper air pressure. Even the 2nd Yaris the ex ended up with did very well with them and hers was two years newer.

But yes, the ones in the picture are unsafe. Replace.
