It is NOT easy to remove the eyelids, as long as you use the 3M tape that I recommend, which is designed to bond with the plastic parts of your car. Then again, if someone tries to pry them off, they may damage the eyelids, which means that at least that idiot won't be able to use them for anything.

The difference between v2 and v3 is essentially just the base, as Treyz correctly mentioned. The base may help a bit on this issue, but not really. The upside of not having the base is that the eyelids are much closer to an OEM look, and there's virtually no rubbing when opening/closing the hood.

So, in essence, the eyelids are as secure as any other "add-on" body part that is attached to your car (be it a spoiler, rocker panels, etc). Obviously those parts will be more secure if they are drilled/bolted in place as well as taped, which is something that cannot be accomplished with the eyelids.

Once I got mine, I test fitted them over and over sanding down what ever was needed. Got the gap even on both sides so that there is no rubbing.
