You are most welcome, my fellow Yaris owner!

I'm glad you enjoyed hanging with me. I was glad to have your company and your support, and I thank you for both.

For anyone who might find this info useful for comparison, I got the car for $145 over invoice. (I could have bought at invoice, if it had not been a dealer trade.)

On my 2008 Cobalt LS trade-in, I was allowed $8500 which was $75 over Kelly Blue Book average trade-in for a vehicle in "Excellent" condition, and my Cobalt truly was "excellent."

Not saying that I couldn't have done better, but this is the deal I got.

People who buy from Hudson Toyota get an unlimited mileage lifetime power train warranty for no charge as part of the deal.

So glad you finally got it! It's been awesome seeing your thought process as you've debated what to do. I can't wait to see you out on the road!

So now that you've got one, are you glad you did it?

We should! My next few weekends are full of home repairs (finally found a contractor to fix the storm damage) but let me know and I'll get all the coal dust washed off.

There are two that I pass on the road a lot, but I have no idea who the drivers are. Other than that, just me, you, and Wes!

Daddy, won't you take me back to Muhlenberg County,
Down by the Green River where Paradise lay?
I'm sorry, my son, but you're too late in askin',
Mr. Peabody's coal train has hauled it away.

You got it!

I do believe Muhlenberg County led the nation in coal production each year for many years in the 60s and 70s. Too bad the market for high sulfur coal collapsed. This area has never found anything to take the place of coal mining and the associated industries for employment. There is still some mining, and it appears like there will be somewhat of a comeback, but we are far from where we were in the past.

If there's still coal there, eventually there will be a demand for it.

Wow, great to have such an enthusiastic new member. I've been following this thread from the beginning because I can really identify with Tom; I wanted a Yaris for a long time and always wondered why I wanted one so bad. A Cobalt isn't too bad when you see the car I sold to buy my Yaris:

That's how much I wanted one.

One month of Yaris gas = one tank of RX-8 gas.

NICE CAR!!

The Yaris grows on you. I didn't know I wanted one until I saw one in person at the dealership. I'm not sure it's an entirely rational process, honestly. Must be that friendly look with the big eyes. Almost looks like the car is smiling at you. Price tag helps, too.
