Also, if you order a car from the factory don't expect the dealer to give you much if any kind of deal either. They are motivated to move vehicles that are already on their lot because the longer the car sits there the more Toyota charges the dealer. So you will always be able to haggle price of the car better if you don't special order, or ask them if a nearby dealership has what you want. If they do the dealer will do a car exchange with them and then you can talk price still. Also if you know a car has been sitting for a while on the lot, you will be able to negotiate a sweet deal because they want to move it.

AVOID buying the extended warranty from the F&I guy, they will sell it, sell it and sell it...it is how he makes money on you. They will start out at some ridiculous price like $1800 then start coming down to $1500, then because you he doesn't want to see you without this great warranty that covers everything it will be $1200... Just keep saying "No!" eventually he will give up and then be somewhat rude while he finishes the paperwork because he is out his cut. When I bought my Camry I caught the F&I guy in a lie and laughed at him (which really pissed him off). So watch out!

Don't forget to check the total price the dealer pays it isn't invoice price there are things like holdback that they don't talk about depending on the car it can be several hundred to several thousand dollars that the dealership gets directly back from Toyota when they sell the vehicle. So even if you buy the car at invoice, the dealer makes money.

Good luck and happy Yaris'ing..I am off to do more mods.

here you go

There are others, do a search for "warranty" threads and that should get you some good info.

I wish I would have found that thread before I bought my car... I got the extended warranty. Then again, I also easily drive between 27k - 30k miles a year (prolly more in the upcoming 1.5 years)... Picked mine up on Aug 7th (a Friday night). Already have 7500 on it (not quite 3 months).

Thanks, Tomato!

I'll check it out. Haven't had time this week to do any more Yaris searching, but I'll start again this weekend.

Personally, I haven't experienced any bad habits with my manual HB
No serious throttle lage etc.

If you want a manual and can wait a bit I recomend that you have your dealer find you one.

When I got my 2d HB, it was the only manual Yaris they had on the lot and there were many at my high volumn dealer. It just happend to be just what I wanted so, I got very lucky.
