See.... this is why I don't like most car audio shops.
They do indeed just want to SELL you "something". ( and the more expensive... the better for THEM ) I don't like 6x9's for subs. They are good for mid-bass though. Order two Alpine Type-R 10" from SonicElectronix.com and be done with it.  ( get the DUAL 2ohm models, so you can wire them both up for a 2ohm load ) Voice coils in series for 4ohms each, subs wired in parallel for 2ohm total load.
