I'm not saying I obey every single little law completely to the letter (hard to say that after going to court yesterday for a speeding ticket ), but... If you live in a state that requires front plates, then STFU and wear 'em. If it is THAT important not to have them, then move to a state that doesn't require them. It is your choice.
Sorted! HTH

^ deffinatly agreed. The way they check your tint here is you stick your license on the window and if they can read it through the tint your good lol.

Cops don't just tool around looking for people they can be mean to to make you angry. There are many reasons why needless little things are wrote up. Some things I can think of are, #1 you are breaking the law ("stupid" or not), #2 you/your car looks suspicious/out of place and writing a ticket is a good way to catalog your/your car's presence in case a serious crime is committed in the area (profiling, yes), #3 tickets are revenue, live with it #4 Cops have bad days/moods just like you and it has nothing to do with you, it may be they are tired of seeing you/people break the law, #5 One word... "quota".

Thing is, tickets are paperwork for cops and DESPITE most public opinion cops are nice on the inside and also don't want to pester people for little things. But quotas are quotas, and unfortunately all too often a measure of performance. I hate to be a wet towel, but the bottom line is you break the law, you get caught, don't think you have any other right but to pay for it.

I got that same ticket back in erly 90s wen first started to mod. That was my last one cuz i figure if he gonna pull me ovr for that, he is gonna find all my other mods n get more tickets. Bottom lines its just a front plate. Its not worth getting pulled over for that reason alone. If your modded and just sees no front plate he is gonna find everything else. I once had a hiway patrol officer pull out a tape measure. At the the end of the whole thing i got 4 fix it tix for being to low exhaust and a over the speed limit by 5mph. Dont give them something obvious to give you hell not worth it, IMHO!

I've been "warned" for no front plate once - always ran one after that. It's a $90 dollar fine here too.

Good point. Why invite problems.

i do have a yaris...and i am a mechanic...so i know bumpers are plastic and fiberglass. but still....you can glue magnets to the inside of the bumper and put magnets on the back of the plate...and magnet the plate to the car.

all i gotta say is with all the money put into wheels, suspension, interior, lighting and all the other crap...you can spend ten bux or skip 2 lunches and buy some resin glue and a couple of neodymium magnets and glue them to the bumper. and glue some magnets to the back of a plate. and then put it on the car like it's 'supposed to be' put on there. you can even invest in some felt tape and put it on the back of the magnets so they wont scratch the bumper....come on, i've thought of everything
