Although your suggestion doesn't apply to Bluevitz-rs (given his personal experience), Having driven to Madawaska last year (took the 'river route' after the road splits...so I didn't go through Caribou), I can see why getting stranded would be something a prudent person in your area would think about....a beautiful, bucolic area....but getting aroung in the winter..... I guess it is something you get used to and get better at...and for natives of Maine, I imagine getting around during the winter is second nature.
